GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT INDUSTRIAL DESIGN REGISTRATION SYSTEM IN BULGARIA
 

Several designs may be filed in one multiple application upon the condition that the designs belong to one and the same class of the International Classification (Locarno classification) or to one set of products.

To file an industrial design application in Bulgaria we need the following information:
   

   1. The name and address of the applicant / applicants.
   2. The name and address of the creator of the design.
   3. The name of the design / designs.
   4. The design/ designs to be registered.
   5. Priority document (if claimed convention or exhibition priority).
   6. Power of attorney (DOC - 26,11 K)

Detailed information of the documents required

The registration procedure lasts about 12 months.

The term of industrial design protection in Bulgaria is 10 years from the filing date. This term may renewed 3 times for 5 years.
